The Betty Schoop Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Betty Schopp Prayer Shawl group meets in the church parlor on the second Thursday of every month at 10:00 am.

For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well.”

—Psalm 139:13-14

The Betty Schopp Prayer Shawl Ministry began as a dream of Pat Gaiefsky in January 2014. A year later, the ministry was named after Betty Schopp for her continued work and dedication to the ministry. Participants pray as they knit shawls for those who are ill, hurting, or in need of encouragement. The shawls not only provide physical warmth but serve as a reminder to those receiving them of the prayers that surround them and of God who loves them.
