Spiritual Formation
Spiritual Formation at First Baptist
The Christian journey is a life-encompassing pilgrimage that entails personal and corporate practices of prayer, worship, and discipline. At First Baptist Church, spiritual growth and discernment take place in a variety of contexts. Come and explore for yourself how your spiritual journey can be strengthened and your spirit renewed through the Adult Spiritual Formation Ministry at FBC. Opportunities for Spiritual Formation
There are eight adult Bible study classes that meet every Sunday morning at 10:00 am. Classes are organized by life-stages, and each class is gifted with experienced and passionate instructors. Occasionally, all adult classes meet together for seminars with guest speakers who discuss topics that range from interpreting scripture to local and global missions. The adult Bible study program provides a wealth of opportunities for spiritual enrichment, biblical learning, and fellowship. (Click here to see a complete list of adult Sunday school class opportunities.)
Throughout the church year, the Adult Spiritual Formation Ministry hosts a variety of activities for spiritual growth, such as the services of Contemplative Prayer and Holy Communion, and in-depth studies on Christian spirituality and faith practices.
To learn more about these opportunities, please read the Spiritual Formation section of the weekly newsletter.
The Adult Spiritual Formation Ministry invites the church family to take root and allow faith to be where one’s spiritual journey can be nurtured and encouraged with the grace of God and the love of a community of believers.
